A Chelsea FC derby versus the two girls’ academies; #teamblenheim and the equivalent Chelsea girls’ football programme in Crawley. 

Blenheim started positively and moved the ball round well, dominating in midfield with some slick passing and movement. The early pressure soon told and after a great break form Kori, she got a fierce shot away that rifled into the back of the net. The game settled in to a pattern of Blenheim pressure and after some great work form Cassie down the right hand side, Chinwendu finished from the edge of the box. 2-0 to #teamblenheim. 

The second half started as the first had finished with #teamblenheim on the front foot but, against the run of play, CFC Crawley had a shot from distance that hit the bar and bounced down, the referee took some time and adjudged that the ball had crossed the line, taking the score to 2-1. 

This goal did not deter the #teamblenheim girls who picked up where they left off and produced some outstanding football. The score line could have been greater but #teamblenheim did add a third goal with ten minutes to play, Etta Dam finishing a good team move with the outside of her foot. 

Congratulations to Cassie on being awarded Player of the Match. 

#teamblenheim now sit third in the National Youth League South Premier Division, three points behind second place Barking Abbey, and with a game in hand. With no fixtures for the lockdown period, #teamblenheim are looking forward to training hard and being ready for league football to return.
