Getting Match Ready and World Records from the CFC Academy!

Posted on: 17/03/2021

Blenheim’s CFC Academy girls have been working hard since returning to school in preparation for the National Football Youth league, restarting after the Easter break. CFC coaches have mixed fitness with technical work and students have been attending an extra session each Monday after school; the effort and dedication has been great to see. Preparations stepped up a gear this Wednesday, with an internal fixture between Chelsea blues and Chelsea yellows. In a closer game than the score line suggests, the blues ran out 5-1 winners with goal of the game going to Amie who produced a great finish after a strong run into the penalty area.

During lockdown, CFC academy students took part in two challenges. The first was a team running challenge, from Blenheim to Munich in Germany, where Chelsea FC won the 2012 Champions league. The girls pounded the streets to complete the 1,113 km trip collectively in just 27 days; a great effort. In addition, £635 was raised for the Samaritans which will be well received.

The second challenge was very different with four students attempting to break a world record. The world record attempt involved trying to put as many socks on one foot as they could in 30 seconds!
