Career Opportunities at
Blenheim High School

Vacancies (both teaching and
non teaching) available at
Blenheim will be included on this website via the links on the
menu bar. The
school is a lively and successful place and visitors to the
school constantly remark on the warm and friendly atmosphere and
the prospectus will give you some idea of what the school is
about.
We make no apology for some of our traditional
elements - extremely high expectations of the students, strict
school uniform, orderly classrooms, regular homework and a
wealth of clubs and activities and we complement these with
first class resources, energetic, enthusiastic teachers and
support staff who involve themselves in every aspect of school
life.
We believe we have some excellent features
including:-
-
An Induction Programme for Staff which has
been praised by Ofsted and IIP.
-
A very good
Ofsted Report
-
Investors in
People re-accreditation
-
Supportive
Governing Body
-
Supportive
parents
-
A Home and School Partnership Agreement, signed
by parents, students and staff before admission
-
Target setting in every subject area.
-
After school homework facility. Students may
elect to stay behind until 4.30pm. The school day finishes at
3.05 p.m. Students take a 10 minutes break, then the Learning
Resources Centre is open for use. A Librarian is available
and the duty teacher and an ICT Co-ordinator monitor students’
use of the technology and other first class resources
available for information retrieval.
-
A bell free environment - the only alarm you
would ever hear would be for fire. Lesson changeover is
calmer than many schools.
-
Excellent modern facilities including purpose
built science laboratories, technology rooms, sports hall,
music rooms and general classrooms.
-
A club-sized Astroturf for football and hockey
with floodlights.
-
An 18 acre site with ample facilities for all
sports.
-
A breakfast facility. The school is open to
students at 8.15 a.m. when breakfast is served - traditional
English breakfast as well as cereal and toast prove popular.
Currently between 25% and 30% of our students use the
facility.
