Karate Success for Oliver

Posted on: 10/07/2019

Congratulations to Oliver in Year 10 for his recent success at the WUKF 2019 Karate Competition held in Bratislava.

There were over 3,000 competitors in the competition from all over the world and Oliver was entered into two categories. In the first category, there were 42 competitors. Oliver finished 20th and unfortunately just missed out on going through to the next round. For the second category, there were 68 competitors and Oliver finished 24th! Oliver performed with confidence throughout and his Sensi was very pleased with how he did.

On the last day of the competition, Oliver wasn’t competing but as the team captain, Oliver was on the mats helping the younger team members with their kit, making sure they were in the right place at the right time and giving the team lots of support. His performance as the team captain was highly praised by his Sensi, AMA coaches and the parents of the children he was looking after.

Oliver’s team, which is a combination from two squads, Mo-ichido and EKK, both representing the AMA, performed incredibly well and came home from the competition with gold medals and trophies.

Well done Oliver!
