Geography Field Trip

Posted on: 15/06/2022

This week the Year 10 Geographers' have been out collecting field data for the first time since 2019! The trip is part of the GCSE Geography course and ties in with the 'Physical Landscapes and Urbanisation' units of work.

The students had to get their feet wet when visiting the Hogsmill River and whilst collecting data on river depth and gradient. They worked as a team along a transect line. Students also walked to Ewell Village to investigate the impact of traffic on the environment. Students collected data on temperature, noise and conducted a traffic count.

A huge thank you to the members of staff who attended the two days in order for the students to experience Geography in the field. The weather held out for both days and the students were impeccably behaved and a real credit to the school.
