Half-term staff visit to our link school in KenyaPosted on: 18/02/2018
Mrs Parr and Mr O'Connor have just returned from a life-changing trip visiting our link school in Kenya, Kisumu Day High School. Having both been successfully awarded the Connecting Classrooms Grant by the British Council they flew out to Kenya at the start of half-term armed with very generous donations of stationary and clothes for the students at Kisumu.
âThey shared the idea of critical thinking and worked with the students there to embrace the idea of ‘student led learning’. They documented their visit to enable our students here at Blenheim to have a very clear idea of the differences between our countries and assemblies are underway to show Blenheim students how different life is at a High School in Kenya.
Students and staff alike were delighted with the kind donations and could not say thank you enough for the help that our school community provide so thank you to all students, teachers and parents who made donations and showed support.
Below you can see a few photos of the trip as well as a short video taken of the Principal at Kissimu Day High School doing a speech to his school about thanking us as a school community for the gifts as well as making the donated Blenheim t-shirts a part of their school uniform.
