Rosie scoops first prize in French speaking competition!

Posted on: 27/02/2018

Yesterday evening three of our year 8 students took part in the Rotary and Town Twinning Associations' fourth French speaking competition. The competition is organised annually by the Epsom Rotary Club who do a lot of twinning work with Epsom's link town in Chantilly, France.

The competition was held at Rosebery School and three students from Blenheim, Rosebery and Epsom College were entered. Students had to recite a French poem in front of a small audience and panel of judges, and we are delighted that Rosie
beat the competition and was awarded first place!

Our other students, Laura and Abigail were deservedly awarded certificates for their performance and participation.

We look forward to next years competition when we will enter both the beginner and intermediate rounds. Pitching against some native French speakers, the judges commented on the excellent pronunciation and delivery of the poems by our students.

Well done girls!
