Year 12 Chemistry Olympiad Success

Posted on: 22/04/2024

As a part of the co-curricular programme, Year 12 and Year 13 A Level Chemistry students have been preparing for the UK Chemistry Olympiad. This develops critical problem-solving skills, students learn to think more creatively and get a chance to test their knowledge in new, real-world situations.

They sat a two-and-a-half-hour examination at the end of January and I am delighted to say that Blenheim students achieved real success. Across the country 15000 students took part. The questions are very challenging, only 8.3% of students were awarded a Gold certificate including our very own Alex S in Year 13. Congratulations also go to Constantine, Lia also in Year 13 and Luke, in Year 12 who were awarded Sliver certificates. James, Harry and Fraser in Year 12 obtained Bronze certificates.

These results bode well for our Year 12 Schools Analyst Competition and The Cambridge University Chemical Challenge that take place later this term.
