Welcome to the dedicated Year 6 Transition webpage.
Transition activities have several aims including alleviating some of the normal anxieties that prospective Year 7 students may have in the coming months. We will do all we can to ensure their transition runs smoothly.

Transition Timeline
Year 6 Transition Key Dates
Early June 2026 – Subject–specific transition sessions after school. Unique to Blenheim, each student will be invited to book a taster lesson in a subject of their choice. Each lesson will run from 3.30pm until 4.45pm (a drink and a biscuit will be served in the canteen first; the full session will begin at 3.45pm). Full details of how to sign-up for these lessons will be sent to you via email in the week commencing 20 April 2026.
29 June 2026 – Prior to the Surrey County Council Transition Day on Tuesday 30 June 2026, all parents of the new Year 7 cohort will be invited in from 6pm for talks from the Headteacher and Head of Year 7. This is when you will find out student tutor groups.
30 June 2026 – Surrey County Council Transition Day. The new Year 7 cohort will be invited to Blenheim to get to know the school, its layout and the teaching staff. Timings; 8.40am (arrival from 8.30am) – 2.45pm. Uniform = students' normal primary school uniform.
3 September 2026 – The new Year 7 cohort will experience a day of team-building and fun sessions in their Blenheim PE kit to help them settle into the school environment and encourage them to get to know their peers. Only Year 7 students will be in school on this day. Timings; 8.40am (arrival from 8.30am) – 3.10pm.
4 September 2026 – The new Year 7 cohort will come to Blenheim in full school uniform for the official start to the term, receiving their timetables and lockers etc. All other year groups will also return to school on this day, with these year groups having staggered start and dismissal times. Timings for Year 7; 8.40am (arrival from 8.30am) – 3.10pm.
