Primary Transition

It can be a worrying time for students who are proposing to move to a new school; they understandably have concerns.

We have a comprehensive Transition Programme to ensure that your child feels welcome and settled at our school. Students from our larger feeder schools will receive a visit from our Pastoral Team in the Summer Term prior to their joining us.  This is an opportunity for your child to meet the team in a comfortable and familiar environment and also gives our staff an opportunity to talk to their current class teacher.

For students coming from smaller primary schools, either on their own, or with one or two classmates, we hold a 'Tea Party' to allow them to get to know each other prior to the main Transition Day.

Similarly, for our SEN and EAL students, we hold an afternoon session followed by a 'Tea Party' so that they may come into school prior to the main Transition Day, which may be daunting for them.

Parents and siblings are also invited to both of these tea parties.

New Parents' Information Evening

New Parents' are invited to our Information Evening on Monday 1st July 2019.  The evening will commence at 6.00pm with refreshments, followed by a presentation in the hall from 6.30pm

Students' Induction Day

Our new students are invited to an Induction Day on Tuesday 2nd July 2019 where they will get to know their peers and Form Tutors but also have a fun taster of what life at Blenheim can offer them. The day will start at 9.15am and students should come directly to the main entrance and register in the canteen before moving into the main hall.  The Induction Day will finish at approximately 2.30pm when students can be collected from the Main Reception or the Student Entrance (depending on their tutor group).

First Day of School

Students should come to the Main Reception where they will be met by their form tutors and other members of staff and taken into the hall for a Welcome Assembly.  Students will then be in their tutor groups for the day and will receive their Student Diaries and timetables. If you have consented to your child having his/her biometric fingerprint taken, these will be taken on the first day. It takes a couple of days for the fingerprint system to be actioned so parents are kindly asked to provide students with a packed lunch for the rest of the week.

During the first week at Blenheim we offer a staggered entry and also adjust our timetable and lesson rooms in order for our new Year 7's to gradually get to know the building, classrooms but more importantly, us and each other.

Students are not required to bring their P.E. kits on the first day.

Please refer to your Parent and Student Guides for information about equipment required.

Year 7 Parents' Information Evening

Parents will be invited to a further information evening at the start of the new term in September.
