Years 10 and 11 House Netball Tournament

Posted on: 21/11/2022

Despite turbulent morning weather, the Year 10 and 11 House Netball tournament, briefly threatened by the elements, took place on Wednesday 23rd November 2022. The energy was high and team sprit was outstanding. In the first round of matches, it was a strong start by all 4 teams whose defensive play was second to none with both games finishing in a draw. The ball was moved fluidly back and forwards. Court 1 was Tulyar and Sinndar with a 0-0 draw. Nashwan and Octavius were on court 2 with both teams finding the net twice for a 2-2 draw.

In the second round of matches, the players seemed more pumped and eagar to play. Tulyar finding the net this time with great offensive play as well as strong communication within the team. However, this was not enough as Nashwan pushed them the whole way and equalised leaving the game as another 2-2 draw. On the other court the team cohesion was strong with Poppy leading the team from her Goal Attack positioning. The team followed her instructions and managed a win against a very strong Octavius side winning by a very close 3 goals to 2.

As the teams geared up for the final set of matches still with copious amounts of energy both courts lined up in their positions waiting for the starting whistle.

All 4 teams still had it all to play for. There was no messing about on court 1. Octavius had the win in their sights. They marked strongly and penalised Tulyar's mistakes. They made great offensive play and smashed Tulyar by 4 goals to 2. On the other court tension was high. Nashwan and Sinndar finished with another 2-2 draw.

When all was said and done, Sinndar were deserved winners with a total of 5 points. Octavius were worthy runners up with 4 points, Nashwan in 3rd place and Tulyar in 4th, with 2 points. It was the closest matches of all the House Netball we have played.
