Year 9 Boys Football Blenheim vs. Therfield

Posted on: 01/02/2024

Blenheim’s Year 9 Boys faced Therfield School in a league game this week. Unfortunately, they got off

to a slow start. They struggled to keep the ball on the floor and couldn’t string many passes together.

They conceded a penalty late in the half and went 1-0 down. However, they began the second half

looking like a new side. They started to increase their pressure on Therfield’s defence and eventually

broke the barrier, equalising thanks to a composed finish from Harrison. The equaliser filled the

squad with confidence as they began to string passes together and up the pressure. Callum received

the ball on the edge of the opposition’s box, twisted through two players and blasted the ball into the

back of the net; 2-1. Therfield threw everything they had into the game. They began to increase their

attack. Late in the game, Therfield missed a chance. The ball was cleared and Harry found himself

through on goal. He squared it to Harrison who rounded the keeper and put it away. 3-1, game over.

Congratulations Boys!
