BLENHEIM 3-1 SHENFIELD SCHOOL

Another day in history as the all-conquering Blenheim Under 18 Girls' team booked a place in their third National Cup Final on a beautiful day in Epsom.

A strong Shenfield School travelled to Blenheim and the game kicked off at a fast pace. The quality of Blenheim shone through in the first 20 minutes as they moved the ball quickly trying to open up aresolute Shenfield defence. After several half chances, it was Millie who opened the scoring with a wellplaced shot from a tight angle into the top corner. Bethany quickly scored the second and took Blenheiminto half time 2-0 and with one foot in the final.

Having played the day before it was inevitable that some of the Blenheim girls would tire and Blenheim did start the second half absorbing Shenfield attacks. It was Shenfield who scored the next goal and the last 30 minutes were occasionally a nervy one.

However, the nerves were settled as Blenheim stepped up a gear and generally controlled the game.Millie scored the decisive third with 15 minutes left.

This win means that the two time National Cup Winners have the opportunity to win three National titles before the majority of the team finish their Blenheim journey.
