Year 9 Tennis Tournament
Posted on: 17/06/2025Blenheim proudly participated in the recent Year 9 Doubles Tennis Tournament at Three Rivers Academy, showcasing determination and school spirit throughout the day. Our team faced strong competition from several schools, including St Andrews, Esher, Hinchley Wood, Ashcombe, and Three Rivers Academy.
Boys' Doubles - Billy and Henrik
Despite giving their best effort and maintaining a positive attitude on court, the boys were unfortunately unable to secure a win in any of the matches. Billy and Henrik demonstrated solid fundamentals, with some excellent forehand rallies that put pressure on their opponents. Their court positioning and communication were another strength where the boys worked really hard to cover angles and move effectively on the court. Regardless of the results and facing schools with more tennis experience, the boys demonstrated resilience, teamwork and sportsmanship in every match.
Girls' Doubles - Sia and Emily
Sia and Emily showed fantastic determination and team spirit throughout the day. They faced tough matches against St Andrews and Three Rivers Academy, where despite some great rallies and strong serving, they narrowly lost. However, the team bounced back impressively, earning well-deserved draws against both Esher and Hinchley Wood. These matches were hard-fought, with consistent forehand shots, improved court coverage, and excellent communication between players. A highlight of the day came in their match against Ashcombe, where Sia and Emily secured a well-earned win. They demonstrated confident net play, accurate shot placement, and smart tactical positioning to take control of the game and close it out impressively. Well done to the girls for their hard work in all games.

Their teamwork and positive attitude were exceptional throughout the day.
Mixed Team B - Ethan and Leah
Ethan and Leah represented Blenheim as Mixed Team B and faced a series of challenging matches throughout the tournament. Although they did not come away with a win, they continuously demonstrated excellent team spirit. Their positive attitude and commitment on court were admirable and improvements were evident from game to game.
