Blenheim 61 v 47 Rutlish

Blenheim hosted Rutlish School in the last 16 of the U15 Surrey Basketball Cup. Blenheim started

fast and used their speed and fastbreak to score quick points in transition. Their aggressive

defence and rebounding enabled them to build a big lead by half time, they were up 41-15.

In the third period Rutlish found their rhythm and their guards started shooting the ball more

confidently. Blenheim struggled to score and going into the last quarter, Rutlish had cut the lead

to 10 points.

Blenheim controlled the last period well, going back to basics, running the floor, moving the ball

quickly and shooting well under the basket. Well done boys!

Woking 53 v 55 Blenheim

Blenheim’s U15 Basketball team travelled to Woking for their first Surrey League Basketball

game. In this fixture last year, Woking won comfortably by 22 points.

Woking started well, scoring early points and using their home court advantage. Blenheim

scored some great perimeter points and were shooting the ball well from range, staying within

10points of their opponents.

The third quarter saw a swing in the tempo from Blenheim, they used their speed and fastbreak

to score lots of points in transition and quickly went 12 points up going into the final three

minutes of the game. After a time out Woking came back out and scored some big shots

themselves and with less than a minute to go got the score to just 2 points.

Some great defending and a turnover gave Blenheim the last possession and they were able to

keep the ball and win the game 55-53.
