Year 8

Year 8 students travelled to the Epsom & Ewell tournament with two teams of seven, and both

groups of players represented the school brilliantly throughout the afternoon. With two separate

groups in the competition, each of our teams were placed in a different pool. Both set the tone

early with confident, disciplined performances.

Team 1 started strongly, securing a 2–0 win against Three Rivers with organised defending and

sharp finishing. They carried that momentum forward with an impressive 3–0 victory over

Therfield, controlling the match from start to finish. Their final group game saw them face the

hosts, Epsom & Ewell, where they produced another dominant display, winning 3–0 and finishing

top of their group without conceding a goal.

Team 2 were equally impressive in their group. They opened with a superb 4–0 win over Three

Rivers, showing great teamwork and attacking intent. A well-earned 3–1 victory against Therfield

followed, with the boys showing plenty of determination to see out the game. Their final match

was a tight and competitive 0–0 draw with the hosts - a result that secured first place in their

group as well.

With both teams winning their groups, it set up an all-Blenheim final, a fantastic achievement in

itself. The final was played in great spirit, with both sides showing quality and commitment.

Team 1 managed to edge the match with a strong performance, winning 3–0 to claim the overall

tournament title.

Both teams should be incredibly proud of their effort, attitude, and quality throughout the

competition. A brilliant afternoon of football and an excellent achievement for the squad!

Year 7

Blenheim entered the Year 7 tournament with two teams, and both groups of players

demonstrated great effort, teamwork, and resilience throughout a competitive afternoon of

Football.

Team 1 delivered a fantastic set of performances, starting their group campaign with a solid 1–0

victory over Three Rivers. Their defensive organisation, quick passing, and calmness on the ball

helped them control the match and take a deserved win. In their second fixture, Team 1 faced

Blenheim Team 2 and produced an excellent attacking display, winning 4–0 with a clinical finish

and strong teamwork across the pitch. Their final game was against the hosts; Epsom & Ewell,

where Team 1 continued their impressive form. A dominant 3–0 win secured their third straight

victory and another clean sheet, meaning they finished 1st in the group with maximum points.

Team 2 faced a challenging set of fixtures but showed brilliant character in every match. They

began with a tough 2–0 defeat to the hosts, Epsom & Ewell, but worked hard throughout and

created opportunities of their own. The second match saw them come up against a strong

Blenheim Team 1 side, resulting in a 4–0 loss despite some determined defending. Team 2

finished the tournament with their best performance of the afternoon, battling well against

Three Rivers. They found the net with a well-taken goal but were narrowly beaten 2–1, leaving

them 4th in the group.

With Blenheim team 1 winning all 3 games, they took first place and went home as the

tournament winners.

Both teams can be proud of their attitude, teamwork, and commitment. A valuable experience

and a great showing from our Year 7s!
