Leading Edge Aviation from Alumni Sam Clarke

Posted on: 14/01/2026

This week, Blenheim had the pleasure of hosting former student, Sam Clarke over the course of

two days. Having left Blenheim Sixth Form in 2024, Sam has since gone on to study aviation at

Leading Edge Aviation.

Sam was exceptionally well prepared and provided students in Year 9 and 10 with a fascinating

insight into how this career path can be achieved. As Sam himself explained, he began his journey

with fairly limited aspirations, which made it all the more inspiring to hear him speak about his

progression from Blenheim to a potential future in the cockpit.

Sam used his £1,000 Sixth Form Geography scholarship to fund his first few flight lessons, which

ultimately led him pursuing a career in aviation. Listening to his story from being a shy pupil with

limited aspirations in Year 7, to working hard at school to passing his exams, was truly inspiring.

Many pupils had further questions and showed great curiosity about the profession.

Sam’s closing remarks were: “Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard and make sacrifices,

and above all, don’t let anyone limit your dreams.” These words perfectly reflect the Blenheim

values of “be the best version of yourself” and having a growth mindset. These talks, delivered to

multiple classes, will hopefully broaden pupils’ perspectives and help them realise that there are

so many fantastic opportunities waiting to be unlocked here at Blenheim. A special thank you to

Sam for giving up his time to come and speak to members of the KS4 cohort.
