Bromley FC

After a disappointing loss to Bromley FC last time out, the girls were focused on making sure the 3 points stayed at Blenheim this time.

The determination to put right the loss from 3 weeks ago was apparent and Blenheim started on the front foot, stop pushing forward for the entire match. The only surprise surrounding the first goal was that it took 30 minutes to arrive. In the previous 29 minute chances were created but either saved well or missed by the Chelsea Blenheim girls’. It was Gemma who converted a great cross from Amiya to get the first goal. Just a few minutes later the score was 2-0 after another good delivery, this time form Megan, and a composed finish inside the Bromley box from Saskia.

Half time came and went and with just 3 minutes on the referee’s watch Blenheim struck again, this time Chinwendu was the scorer after a defense splitting pass from Player of the Match, Etta, 3-0 and still lots of time to go on the hunt for more goals. The wait for number 4 was not long though and 4 minutes later Cassie started and finished a great team goal, lifting the ball high and powerfully over the Bromley FC goalkeeper. With the game now stretching further away from Bromley FC the Blenheim girls would have been forgiven for taking their foot of the pedal, but their ruthless nature meant this was never an issue.

After 51 minutes the score was 5-0, after a free kick that came crashing off the bar from Megan Chinwendu reacted quickest and slotted home the rebound. It was Chinwednu again who added to the score after some great work form Cassie to pressuring the Bromley defense into a mistake, and 2 minutes later Gemma added to her goal, slotting the ball in to the bottom corner. The last 10 minutes saw a further 3 goals, with a penalty and free kick from Megan and a hat trick goal from Chinwendu to take the score 10–0 and the three points back to Blenheim.
