Chelsea FC Blenheim Development team hosted USP College in the last 32 of the English Colleges Cup.

The game demonstrated how hard the girls continue to work and how far the academy has come in the last 2 years. Despite USP being a year further in their journey to build an academy it was Blenheim who dominated the game from the outset.

The first goal arrived after 7 minutes and both the team and Amelia never looked back. The movement off the ball in midfield and the drive and determination meant that at half time the score was 5-0, Amelia completed a first half hat-trick with Keira and Catia adding to the tally.

Blenheim could have easily sat back, but the opposite happened. Chelsea FC Blenheim did what all good teams do and pushed forward, scoring a staggering 10 goals in the second half, with Amelia and Keira both taking their goal scoring tally to 5. Catia added another and Alex and Millie joined in with some excellently worked goals. Lara also scored her first for the Chelsea FC Blenheim academy from right back.

The development side will play a strong Itchen Sixth Form side in the last 16 next week.

The Academy side travelled to Oaklands College to play Arsenal FC in a repeat of the season opener in the National Football Youth League Cup. Unfortunately the academy side could not repeat the win from last time out. After a positive performance in the first half, trailing 1-0, Arsenal took the initiative early in the second half and pushed on winning the contest 5-0 and putting the academy team out of the cup in the first round. Work to be done before the academy travel to league leaders, Barking Abbey next week.
