The year 10 boys’ basketball team played their third friendly against Three Rivers away.

Three Rivers started strongly and used their height advantage to get the first four points on the score board. However, Blenheim reacted well and with some excellent passing and shooting between Knester and Matthew, the score was soon level.

In a lively second and third quarters, Blenheim persisted with their attacking play and the lay ups were flying in, with Dante, Peter, Matthew and Knester adding to the score board. Ollie and Wagner increased Blenheim’s lead by shooting some amazing three-pointers. However, Three Rivers were able to use their extra height in their attacking play and were able to block and take advantage of the rebounds.

Blenheim started the fourth quarter in a very strong and determined way with Knester’s ‘deep three’, increasing Blenheim’s lead.

However, with some space in defence beginning to show, Three Rivers took advantage and were soon level again. There were further baskets scored by both teams right up until the final whistle. Three Rivers narrowly won the game. MVP: Matthew
