My Fair Lady Opening Night Review

Posted on: 02/02/2023

Blenheim’s production of My Fair Lady opened last night and what an opening night! Reminiscent of the West End and seamlessly crafted; the first night performance was witty, energetic, uplifting and absolutely ‘luverly’.

Filled with a host of familiar songs, the audience couldn’t help but tap their feet along to the vibrant choruses and sensational songs. Thoughtfully delivered performances from Lily as Eliza and Ben as Henry Higgins delivered a flawless mix of humour, emotion and energy drawing the audience to champion both characters throughout.

Alex as Alfred Doolittle, George as Colonel Pickering, Calla as Mrs Higgins, Kezia as Mrs Pearce and Freddie as Freddie Eynsford-Hill delivered wit, charm and vibrancy by the bucket load and the solo pieces from Adam and Freddie were simply spectacular.

A dazzling set certainly was the perfect background for the lavish costumes and 100 plus strong cast; all of whom came together as one to present a 'blooming' wonderful production.

I think the audience would all agree with this 5-star review and the show is definitely not one to miss!

My Fair Lady is showing at the Leatherhead Theatre until Saturday and there are still seats available for all three remaining performances.
