Year 10 Rounders tournament

Posted on: 18/05/2023

Ewell, Ashcombe, Esher, St Andrew's and Hinchley Wood.

Blenheim v Rosebery. Blenheim lost 3.5 to 5

The first game was against Rosebery where we unfortunately lost 3 and half rounders to 5. It was a fantastic match with highlights from Jess who caught out a ball what could only be described as a rocket from its speed off light. Secondly, Abi who demonstrated fearless long barriers that were instrumental in getting many of their runners out.

Blenheim v Epsom & Ewell. Blenheim won 4.5 to 3.5

Our next three games on the bounce we managed to win including Epsom & Ewell 4 and a half to 3 and a half.

Blenheim v Ashcombe. Blenheim won 3.5 to 1 & Blenheim v St Andrew's. Blenheim won 4.5 to 4

This was a whole team effort with Florence at backstop demonstrating accuracy alongside Anabelle, Bella, Aoife and Jess working the bases very well getting an average of 4 players out per game. Another special mention to Malin who was the team's last line of defence in the outfield demonstrating a long barrier to prevent full-rounders from being scored. Lastly Emily who was our bowler and captain not only organised but put fantastic pressure on the opposition with her accurate bowling.

Blenheim v Hinchley Wood & Blenheim v Esher. Blenheim lost both games

Unfortunately, we lost our last 2 games against Hinchley Wood and Esher, however, given the number of rounders we scored this placed us 4th out of 7 schools.

It was an incredibly fun afternoon well organised by Mrs Whitear and was a privilege taking this special group of girls who played their hearts out especially, with the team consisting of year 9 students. They did extremely well against teams all a year older than they were.

Well done Girls.
