Blenheim students celebrate record GCSE Results

Posted on: 24/08/2023

Blenheim High School students have bucked the trend and achieved higher results than pre-pandemic levels in spite of the warning of a fall in grades nationally. Students, staff and parents have been rewarded with Blenheim’s best ever set of GCSE results. 70% of grades awarded are 9-4 and 67% achieved 5 strong passes including English and Maths. 71% of students achieved a 9-4 in Maths and English, 6.1% higher than in 2019, and 83% achieved a 9-4 in Science.

Among the successes are Elwyn Gravestock, Ollie Hagon, Abi McCole, Susannah Burstow, Daniel Hazeldine, Amy Wright, Warren Watson, Isaac Collings, Fraser Williams and James Page. Those of them continuing their studies at the Blenheim Sixth Form will automatically receive a £1000 top 10 performers scholarship.

Tony Bodell, Headteacher at Blenheim High School says “This year’s record GCSE results are outstanding and a credit to the students and staff here who have worked tirelessly over many years. We are very proud of the way our students have handled the disruption to Key Stage 4 and are delighted that they have achieved these well-deserved results. I’d like to say a huge congratulations to all our students, staff and parents and we look forward to welcoming many students to Sixth Form in September.”
