Blenheim 43 v 18 Three Rivers

MVP - Fin & Charlie

Congratulations to the year 8 Boys’ Basketball team who won their Surrey Schools Cup match against Three Rivers Academy. The match started very positively for Blenheim with Fin showing great awareness and anticipation on court and intercepted many balls and then used his speed to dribble up the court and around defenders to keep Blenheim on the offence. Charlie T put up the first shot and scored an excellent jump shot to put Blenheim in front within a couple of seconds of the match starting. The intensity in attack remained high with Liam demonstrating  some excellent agility and cross over dribbles beat defenders. Blenheim found gaps in the defence so drove through to score a number of lay ups. Rhys showed good awareness of rebounding under the Blenheim basket to keep possession for Blenheim whilst John showed his dominance of the left hand side of the court and also added many points to the score sheet. There were some great attacking moments from Three Rivers and they soon added points to the board.

Blenheim's substitutes made an immediate impact when they came on. Herkus proved that it was ability over height on the court and showed his resilience and power to secure rebounds and also dribble up the court to score amazing lay ups. Ethan showed great technique in finding space and executing a fantastic jump shot to add points to Blenheim's lead. Fin and Herkus's work rate on the court was highly commendable from all spectators and officials. Jack showed superb ball handling skills and Arun improved his confidence in passing as the match progressed. Charlie S was resilient on court and used his strength to secure 50-50 balls.

Thank you to Three Rivers for hosting and for being brilliant competitors.
