Bourne Hall Garden of Remembrance

Posted on: 10/11/2023

Once again Blenheim was privileged to be invited to the opening of the Garden of Remembrance at Bourne Hall by the Mayor. Mr Raymer accompanied the History club on a rather wet and windy day to Bourne Hall where we joined other local schools to read poems before the Mayor opened the Garden of Remembrance. The weather meant this event had to be moved inside but this did not take away from the importance of the event. History club picked the poem they wished to read and Afia, Holly, Sophie, Isla, Dexter and Sophia read the poem at the service. The poem they selected was called ‘My Little Wet Home in a Trench.’ We picked this as it was written by a private trying to cope with the reality of trench warfare. As always Blenheim students were a credited to the school and represented us wonderfully.
