Posted on: 30/06/2025

This year’s GCSE and A-Level Art, Graphics, Textiles, and Craft Exhibition, held on Wednesday 25th June, was a resounding success. Showcasing the creativity, dedication, and technical development of students across both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, the event offered an immersive experience for parents, families, and students alike.

Spread across multiple classrooms, visitors were welcomed by a vibrant and diverse collection of work. The GCSE Graphics and Textiles displays were particularly compelling, while the Craft pieces demonstrated impressive technical skill and craftsmanship.

The Fine Art rooms were equally captivating. A-Level pieces stood out for their technical precision and emotional intensity, with portraiture dominating the displays. Striking painted works captured expression and identity through bold compositions and vivid colours—from vibrant yellow and red backdrops to detailed facial features and textured brushwork. These portraits conveyed powerful themes of selfhood, beauty, and cultural identity with remarkable maturity.

Visitors also had the opportunity to explore GCSE and A-Level sketchbooks and preparatory work laid out on tables. These offered fascinating insight into the artistic process, featuring mood boards, written analyses, and media experimentation that revealed the depth of students’ research and conceptual development alongside their final pieces.

The exhibition celebrated not only individual talent but also the dedication and guidance of the teaching staff. The thoughtful curation of the space allowed each artwork to shine while highlighting the diversity of styles and ideas across the cohort.

Overall, the artwork was vibrant, creative, and inspiring. This year’s exhibition was more than just a showcase of talent—it was a celebration of growth, resilience and personal expression, providing a truly inspiring conclusion to the academic year.
