Arete Sports Day
Posted on: 19/06/2025Gordon's School hosted an outstanding Arete Sports Day on Monday 16th June, bringing together students from four different schools to compete across a wide variety of sporting disciplines. This exciting event saw participation from Blenheim High School, Woking High School, Gordon’s School, and Robert May’s School, with each team competing to earn points through their performance in seven different sports to determine the overall winner.
A total of 51 Blenheim students from Years 7, 8, and 9 proudly represented the school. The students participated in cycling, rowing, badminton, rounders, dodgeball, tennis, and dance— offering a well-rounded opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities and teamwork.
The attitude and enthusiasm displayed by the Blenheim students was truly exemplary. They demonstrated resilience, co-operation, and sportsmanship in every event, reflecting the core values of our school. Their behaviour and team spirit were not only commendable but also caught the attention of staff and spectators from the other schools, who praised our students for their respectful conduct and collaborative mindset.
A particularly noteworthy achievement came in the Dance competition, where our students placed an impressive 2nd overall. This is a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and commitment of Miss Le Prevost and her group of talented dancers, who clearly gave it their all. Throughout the day,
Blenheim performed admirably and while we may not have taken home the top prize students were able to explore new sports, by many for the first time.
A huge well done to all the students who participated—you represented Blenheim with pride and enthusiasm. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed the day and felt inspired to continue exploring new physical activities in the future. Thank you also to the staff who supported the event and helped make the day a memorable one for everyone involved.
