Science Trip to see Tim Peake!
Posted on: 10/09/2025This week a group of ten Blenheim students had the incredible opportunity to travel to G Live in Guildford to see British astronaut Tim Peake live on stage in his acclaimed show, Astronauts: The Quest to Explore Space. This fascinating show didn’t just cover Tim’s own experience in space; it took the audience on a journey through the history of flight and space exploration. From the Wright brothers’ first flight to the Apollo missions, the Space Shuttle era and the International Space Station, Tim traced humanity’s progress step by step, showing how each breakthrough brought us closer to exploring the stars. This memorable learning experience, organised by Ms Alam and accompanied by Mrs Fleck, provided students with a chance to reflect on the remarkable human ingenuity that made space travel possible. Tim shared stories of astronaut training, rocket launches, and the awe-inspiring experience of looking back at Earth from orbit, leaving students inspired and full of questions. One student reflected "It was incredible to hear directly from someone who has been to space. It made me realise how much hard work goes into becoming an astronaut – but also that it’s possible if you stay focused on your goals."
Trips like this encourage students to think big, explore STEM pathways, and see where their ambitions might take them — perhaps even beyond Earth one day!
A huge thank you to Ms Alam for organising such a brilliant experience.
