House Update Term 1:1

The House events began with great energy at the start of the term, with Year 7 students taking part in a range of exciting activities including the Three-legged Race, a Maths challenge, Marshmallow Tower Building, and the Bungee Run. Points earned throughout the day contributed to each Houses’ overall score, which was revealed at the end of the Year 7 Induction Day. The overall winner was Sinndar. Students showed fantastic teamwork, integrity, and respect in every challenge.

Following the induction events, the next competition of the half term was the House Quiz, held on the 6th October. Students answered questions on the major sporting events that took place over the summer. The results were extremely close, showing just how knowledgeable and engaged our students are. The House with the most points was Sinndar. The main sporting focus this half term was the House Football Competition, which took place across several weeks for Years 7 to 11. The matches were well- attended and showcased impressive skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship from all participants. After some exciting games, the winning houses were as follows:

Currently Octavius are the overall House winners as of the end of this first half term. It’s been a fantastic start to the year, and I’m proud of how all students who have represented their Houses with enthusiasm and respect.

Looking ahead, next half term will bring House Netball and the House Creative Writing Competition, more opportunities for students to get involved, have fun, and earn points for their houses. Keep an eye out for further updates in school and in the Headteacher’s Weekly Bulletin!
