Year 7 NSSA Netball Tournament

Posted on: 09/10/2025

Congratulations to the year 7 Netball team who achieved second place in their first NSSSA Netball

tournament, narrowly missing out on first place by 3 goals over the whole tournament. Their

teamwork, sportsmanship and play on the court was fantastic to see.

Blenheim 2 v 0 Three Rivers Academy

Blenheim started confidently and dominated the centre of the court. Direct passing and moving

into space was key in this match and Blenheim performed very well. Molly, Cacie and Paige

created a chain of passes into Lara and Lily who rebounded to maintain possession before

scoring. Hannah and Camilla were formidable defence using their anticipation of the game to be

first to each ball.

Blenheim 2 v 0 Rosebery (A)

A change of positions and impact players coming onto the court showed that Blenheim are a

versatile team with strengths across many positions. Cal used strength and power to jump to

intercept passes and Lilya was maintaining the one on one defence superbly well keeping the

possession in the defending third. Molly and Hannah used experience to slow down the play and

make the right choice of pass to get around their defenders. Lara applied holding space

underneath the post and scored the goals with increasing consistency, Camilla and Paige worked

hard in the centre third to drive off the landing foot and pass to keep in control of the ball.

Blenheim 1 v 4 Rosebery (B)

A fast paced match was keeping everyone on their toes. Blenheim worked hard across the court

but with some rushed passes meant lost possession. Blenheim's work ethic and resilience

remained high.

Blenheim 5 v 1 St. Andrew’s (B)

Following a positive team talk, Blenheim's ‘bouncebackability’ was high and all players worked

hard for the team. Link up play between all players was excellent to see. With Mimi and Hannah

intercepting passes and playing the ball wide into space and thinking of the next pass to Molly

and Lily. Cal and Camilla were making finger tip interceptions which were enough to thwart the

oppositions play. Paige and Lara showed consistency in their shooting and scoring with great

technique.

Blenheim 6 v 0 St. Andrew’s (A)

All players showed their passion for Netball. Teamwork was incredible to watch, with attacking

and defending at a high level. Mimi was influential across the match and supported the team

through her high work ethic. Lara was on fire with her shooting and rebounding, holding space

with dominance under the net. Molly controlling the attack and spreading the play across and

around the D to help give Liliya and Lily options which spread the defence. Cal and Camilla

showed excellent reaction times and were first to nearly every ball. Cacie using her superb agility

and passing kept the ball alive.
