MUN Conference

Posted on: 08/10/2025

Eleven students from Blenheim High School proudly represented the school at ReiMUN29, Reigate

Grammar School’s annual Model United Nations (MUN) conference, held this past weekend. The

event brought together students from a range of schools to debate global issues, simulate UN

procedures, and develop their public speaking and diplomacy skills.

Blenheim formed two delegations, representing the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe, and our

students fully embraced the opportunity to engage in a wide range of committee debates, making

thoughtful contributions and voting on key resolutions.

The day began with an opening ceremony, where delegates were encouraged to actively

participate in committee work. From there, students headed into their respective committees to

debate pressing global issues.

Our UK delegation had representation on the Security Council, where delegates debated tensions

between Israel and Iran, and the ongoing situation in Pakistan and Kashmir. In the Historical

Security Council, Blenheim students took part in a re-examination of the 1982 Falklands War,

alongside discussions around past Gulf region tensions.
