Summer Term House Competitions

Posted on: 21/05/2026

It has been another exciting and successful half term of House events, with students across the

school demonstrating fantastic teamwork, creativity, determination and House spirit.

There was excitement and competition during the Year 7 and 8 House Rounders Finals Day, with

all four Houses battling hard for first place. Octavius secured their place in the final after a strong

semi-final performance against Sindar, while Tulyar overcame Nashwan in a closely contested 13–

11 victory. The final between Tulyar and Octavius was tense and competitive, with both teams

showing excellent teamwork, fielding and batting. Tulyar narrowly edged the contest 4.5–3.5 to

be crowned Year 7 and 8 Rounders Champions. Sindar claimed third place after an impressive

attacking display against Nashwan. Congratulations also go to the House MVPs: Charlie for Tulyar,

Kate for Nashwan, Harry for Sindar and Theo for Octavius, who all showed outstanding

performance, leadership and commitment.

The KS4 House Rounders competition was equally competitive, with a series of close matches and

impressive performances across all four Houses. Octavius began with a narrow 5–4 victory over

Sindar, before Sindar responded with a tight 7.5–7 win against Tulyar. Tulyar then showed great

resilience, defeating Octavius 6.5–5.5 and later securing a strong 12–8 victory over Nashwan.

Nashwan also battled hard throughout the competition, including a well-earned 9–9 draw with

Octavius. With the final standings extremely close, Tulyar were awarded first place on points

difference, highlighting the importance of every rounder scored across the tournament. Well

done to all KS4 students involved for their teamwork, determination and competitive spirit.

The House Drama Showcase was another highlight of the half term, with the Drama studio

coming alive after school as students performed pieces inspired by Frozen and Matilda. The

afternoon was filled with creativity, confidence and impressive storytelling with memorable

performances including “Revolting Children”, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” and “Let it Go”.

A particularly thoughtful performance came from the Year 7 girls in Nashwan, who explored

friendship and forgiveness with maturity and sensitivity.

A huge well done to all students who took part in this half term’s House events. Whether

competing on the rounders pitch or performing on stage, students represented their Houses with

enthusiasm and confidence.
