A win for the Chelsea FC Foundation team

Posted on: 12/01/2022

Chelsea FC Blenheim

AFC Bournemouth

For the first time Chelsea FC Blenheim started a match with an entire team of year 12 students, and they started incredibly as Millie opened the scoring after eight minutes. Four minutes later the score was level, and a test of football ability and mentality appeared to be on the cards. The girls reacted exceptionally well, with Millie scoring another and Keira and Alex adding goals to take Chelsea FC Blenheim in at half time 4-1 up.

After half time it was AFC Bournemouth that started the strongest, and after ten minutes of the second half pulled a goal back. The second half ebbed and flowed with both sides looking stronger in patches. It took until the 90th minute for the next goal, and it was Chelsea FC Blenheim’s and Dulcie who scored it. AFC Bournemouth did manage to score again in injury time but it was game over and a deserved 3 points. Unbeaten and top of the league on goal difference for the development team who travel to Barton Peveril next week.
