Conditions were miserable Chelsea FC Blenheim welcomed i2i Women’s Academy for the National Football Youth League Trophy quarter final.

The visitors scored first after eight minutes. With a semi-final spot up for grabs, this did not dampen the spirit or the intensity of Chelsea FC Blenheim.

There were chances at both ends as Chelsea FC Blenheim played well and physically matched i2i who were an under 21 University team. Chelsea FC Blenheim drew level shortly after the half hour mark when some great football from midfield created a chance for Etta to steer home.

As the first half reached stoppage time, a big moment unfolded as Chelsea FC Blenheim gave away a penalty that was duly converted by i2i. 2 - 1 down at half time.

Into the second half and the next goal was always going to be crucial. Unfortunately it was i2i that scored. 3-1 and work to be done the game opened up as Chelsea FC Blenheim searched for a goal to keep the semi final hopes alive. Unfortunately it was i2i who scored again with a counter attack as Chelsea FC Blenheim tried to get back into the game. With the tie nearing completion, Chelsea FC Blenheim did get another goal back with a good header finding the net from Amelia to take the score to 4-2.
