Sports Day 2022

Posted on: 04/07/2022

Blenheim had its annual Sports Day at the Harrier Centre on Monday 4 July. Students had previously signed up for events and were ready to participate and cheer on their House. Competitions included track events, field events, relay and tug of war. The atmosphere was excellent on the day with everyone in good spirits. Many students took part in the events and scored points for their House. Those students that did not compete in the events cheered on their House from the side lines.

It was important for any many students to take part so that everyone felt part of a team. The tug of war event gave all students the opportunity to be part of a large team; taking away the pressure of individual competition.

There were many excellent performances and the results can be found here.

Stand out performances came from Tilly in Year 7 who won the 100m, 800m and the 1500m. Tilly broke the school record for the 1500m race. Max in Year 9 won the high jump with a height of 175cm breaking the school record by 9cm! Gerda Year 8, Hannah Year 9 and Amy Year 10 who all broke the school record in their long distance races. Mark, Year 10 broke the school record in the Long Jump competition with a jump of 5.48m.

Sports day was very well attended by students and proved to be an exciting and enjoyable day!
