Blenheim vs. Esher High School - Girls Football

Posted on: 27/09/2022

The U14 Girls' Football team had their first fixture of the season this week and played the first round of the ESFA National Cup. The opposition were a strong Esher side who tested our defence throughout the match. The first half ended with Blenheim leading 5-2 after excellent goals from Mina, Holly and a hat- trick from Florence who all showcased how strong the girls' attacking play is.

After half time, Esher came back and really attacked, scoring from distance and challenging Blenheim's rotation of goalkeepers! At 5-4 to Blenheim, Florence took matters into her own hands and put another goal past their keeper to make it 6-4. To Esher's credit, their players did not give up and managed to score twice more, however a beautifully struck free kick from just outside the box meant that Holly Crane sealed the game 7-6.

An excellent start to the season and we are looking forward to round two!
