Blenheim Ski Trip - Austria 2023

Posted on: 22/02/2023

Over the February half term, a trip that had been planned since before the pandemic finally took place, with 42 students from Years 8 to 11 travelling to Kitzbuhel, Austria for the long-awaited Blenheim ski trip!

After the long coach drive from Blenheim to Austria, students and staff had a great time on the slopes, making new friends and experiencing both the culture and cuisine of Austria.

Students with a range of skiing abilities enjoyed a week on the beautiful mountains, in the glorious sunshine, taking full advantage of the snow. It was fantastic to see beginner skiers progress with the aid of the instructors, and a great opportunity for the more advanced to hone their skiing abilities and increase their confidence in this sport. Over the course of the week, students not only spent time on a range of slopes and runs, but also managed to fit in a visit to the picturesque town of Kitzbuhel, had fun competing in a team quiz, and even showcased their singing abilities (or lack of!) in an evening of karaoke.

Staff at the hotel, the instructors and the ski company all commented on the impeccable behaviour, courtesy and motivation of our students and have already asked that we go back again in the future. It was without a doubt a successful trip during which many memories were made that will be reminisced upon in years to come.

A big thank you goes out to the support and positive feedback from parents, and also to the staff who accompanied the trip – Miss Armstrong, Mr Allen, Miss Patsikas, Mr Shortt, Miss Riley, and especially Mr Adams as the trip leader and organiser. Here you can see some of the pictures of the students and get a taste of the great experience had by all.
