ESFA NATIONAL FINAL AT STOKE CITY FC STADIUM

BLENHEIM HIGH 6 v 1 COMBERTON COLLEGE

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: MIA R

Students from Year 11, 12 and 13 came together to represent the school on a national level. The first 5 minutes were cagey, with both teams finding their feet in the impressive Bet 365 Stadium, the home town of Stoke City FC. With the first move of the game the player of the Match, Mia R scored with an outstanding shot from distance, a real contender for goal of the season. Having worked hard in training on corners and set pieces it was a corner that bought Mia R and Blenheim their second goal. Then just before half time Amy slotted home after a beautiful passage of play and Blenheim went into half time 3-0 up and in the ascendency.

Blenheim continued to impose their football on Comberton and were coping with the speed of their front line well. Mia R produced another stunning goal from 20 yards out to make it 4-0. Another corner produced another goal as Amy posted home her second after an impressive header. It was fitting that captain Mia D also got on the score sheet, with a coolly taken penalty which she guided into the bottom corner.

What a team and what a result. The school‘s 4th national cup victory in 6 years and memories to last a lifetime. #TeamBlenheim.
