On National Poetry Day, Thursday 2nd October, some of our new library ambassadors had the exciting opportunity to join award-winning author, playwright, screenwriter, and actress Manjeet Mann for a live poetry workshop delivered by the British Library.

With the added treat of juices, fizzy drinks, and popcorn, our students were guided through a series of creative poetry exercises that encouraged them to explore their voices and ideas. The session built up to each student writing their own poem as part of the nationwide #ThisIsHowIRoar campaign, which invites people across the UK to share what makes them feel confident, brave, courageous, and powerful.

It was an inspiring event that celebrated creativity, self-expression, and the power of poetry.
