Central Surrey District Cross Country
Posted on: 04/12/2025On Tuesday 2nd December, eleven students from Years 7 to 11 represented Blenheim at the Central Surrey District Cross Country Championships at Nonsuch Park. With the top 14 finishers in each age group earning a coveted place at the County Championships, the stakes were high— and our students rose brilliantly to the challenge. Despite the cold, muddy conditions, their enthusiasm and determination never wavered!

With schools from all across the Central Surrey District in attendance, the atmosphere was electric. Our Year 7s kicked off the event, displaying remarkable skill and perseverance. Lucas finished 5th which should definitely secure him a place in the County Championships. Naomi placed 11th overall but may have finished 1st for the girls which is an amazing achievement! Paddy placed 27th with a strong race —results that may place even higher once split by gender. A truly fantastic achievement for our youngest competitors!
Next up were the U15 girls (Years 8 and 9), who delivered inspiring performances. Bella placed 3rd after running an outstanding race. Jessica placed 25th with Kira 47th and Sophia 48th. Their determination and team spirit were clear to see. In the U15 boys' race, Aaron finished strong in 42nd place.
In the U17 girls race (Years 10, 11 and sixth form) Dora secured a commendable 23rd place, while the U17 boys rounded off the day with exceptional results - Archie placed 3rd and Jacob 13th - again, all with the potential for further improvement once age categories are separated.
Throughout the competition, our students represented Blenheim with pride, resilience and camaraderie. They supported one another from start to finish and were a credit to the school. Each of them should feel incredibly proud of their achievements. Well done to all! I look forward to receiving the final results from the event organisers to confirm which students have definitely qualified for the County Championships.
