Blenheim 3 v 0 Heathside

Player of the Match: Charlie

The Year 7 boys' Football team played Heathside School this week. The game was end-to-end

throughout. Heathside began the stronger with a string of chances in the early stages of the

game. However, impeccable goalkeeping by Charlie thwarted them. Blenheim then grew into the

game. Forward runs from Elijah, Leo and Alfie provided Blenheim with chances to score. Midway

through the second half, Alfie finished off a cross from Elijah; 1-0. Blenheim continued the

pressure. George found himself fouled on the edge of the box towards the end of the half. He

stepped up for the freekick and converted it 2-0.

The second half was much of the same. Blenheim withstood a flurry of attacks from Heathside.

Charlie again was making save-after-save, keeping Blenheim in the lead. Blenheim then grew into

the half towards the later stages. A great run and switch from Elijah to Alfie set him through on

goal. He dribbled past his opponent but was fouled on the edge of the box. Alfie stepped over it

this time. A second freekick converted in the game gave Blenheim the 3-0 victory. A fantastic,

determined performance from the boys.
