NSSSA Year 10 Football League Final
Posted on: 14/05/2025Blenheim High 2 v 3 St Andrew’s
The Year 10 boys produced a strong and determined performance in the NSSSA League Final against St Andrew’s. Blenheim dominated possession in the opening 10 minutes, creating several half chances through quick passing and excellent link-up play, particularly from the wingbacks. Harrison set the tone with his relentless pressing, while the defence remained solid and the midfield took control of the central areas. A fantastic chase from Ave saw him speed past the goalkeeper and get a toe to the ball to knock it in and level the score at 1-1 straight after the half time break. Shortly after, Callum headed home from a corner to put Blenheim 2-1 ahead. St Andrew’s hit back quickly with a breakaway goal to make it 2-2, and with 20 minutes to go, a long free-kick ended up in the back of the Blenheim net, putting Blenheim 3-2 behind. Blenheim pushed hard in the closing stages, forcing several excellent saves from the St Andrew’s goalkeeper, but couldn’t find the equaliser. Although Blenheim did manage to get the ball in the back of the opposition net, it was unfortunately offside and did not count. 3-2 at the final whistle with St Andrew’s coming out on top. A tough result, but a performance full of pride, determination and quality. Tremendous from all of the boys, they did Blenheim proud.
